- If door system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If door system diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform DOOR SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing door system diagnostic system check, go to next step.
- Verify fault is present. If system does not operate correctly, go to next step. If system operates correctly, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS .
- If power door lock system operates correctly with door switches, go to next step. If power door lock system does not operate correctly with door switches, perform TEST B: POWER DOOR LOCKS INOPERATIVE WITH DOOR SWITCHES .
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position, engine off. Lock driver door. Using scan tool, observe KEY CYLINDER UNLOCK parameter in BCM data list. Activate driver door lock cylinder switch to UNLOCK position. If scan tool does not indicate ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool indicates ACTIVE, go to step 6 .
- Lock passenger door. Using scan tool, observe KEY CYLINDER UNLOCK parameter in Body Control Module (BCM) data list. Activate passenger door lock cylinder switch to UNLOCK position. If scan tool does not indicate ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool indicates ACTIVE, go to step 9 .
- Disconnect appropriate door lock cylinder switch harness connector. It may be necessary to remove door trim panel for access to door lock cylinder switch harness connector. See DOOR TRIM PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a fused 3-amp jumper wire between door lock cylinder switch 2-pin harness connector Black/White wire terminal and Light Green wire terminal. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Using scan tool, observe KEY CYLINDER UNLOCK parameter in Body Control Module (BCM) data list. If scan tool does not indicate ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool indicates ACTIVE, to step 10 .
- Check for an open in Light Green wire between door lock cylinder switch 2-pin harness connector and BCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 13 . If problem was not found, go to next step.
- Check for an open in Black/White wire between ground and door lock cylinder switch 2-pin harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 13 . If problem is not found, go to next step.
- Check for poor connections at BCM harness connectors. Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 13 . If problem is not found, go to step 11 .
- Check for poor connections at door lock cylinder switch harness connector. Repair as necessary. After repair, go to step 13 . If problem is not found, go to step 12 .
- Replace and program BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. After repair, go to step 13 .
- Replace door lock cylinder switch. See DOOR LOCK CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step .
- Operate system in order to verify repair. If system does not operate correctly, go to step 2 . If system operates correctly, system is okay.
