The SECURITY indicator lamp notifies the driver of the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system status. The theft deterrent control module controls the operation of the SECURITY indicator lamp. The SECURITY indicator lamp is part of the instrument panel cluster. Based on system status the SECURITY indicator may remain off, illuminate on steady, or flash.
