Knock Sensor: Installation
2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Installation

- Route knock sensor by placing harness behind generator bracket and attach knock sensor 1 wire to attachment clips. Install knock sensor between the 2 and 3 o'clock position and install attachment bolt. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install generator and attachment bolts. Tighten generator bolts to specification. Reconnect generator wiring. Install belt tensioner and attachment bolts. Tighten tensioner bolts to specification. Install front splash shield, push-pins and screws. Lower vehicle.
- Connect knock sensor 1 harness connector. Push connector in until the lock position is felt, then pull back to confirm engagement. Install drive belt. Connect negative battery cable. Tighten negative battery terminal bolt to specification. Reset all preset radio stations and set clock to correct time.
- Tie end of string to the connector end of the knock sensor 2. Pull up on the string above A/C compressor to guide the sensor connector around the A/C compressor bracket. Once the knock sensor connector is above the A/C compressor, install knock sensor 2 attachment bolt with knock sensor 2 wire facing between the 9 and 10 o'clock position.
- Tighten the knock sensor bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Lower vehicle. Attach knock sensor wire to attachment clip located about 6" below attachment clip on the camshaft position sensor.
- Attach knock sensor wire to attachment clip located on the camshaft position sensor. Connect knock sensor 2 harness connector. Push connector in until the lock position is felt and pull back to confirm engagement.
