- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove the bolt from the coolant recovery reservoir. Set aside the coolant recovery reservoir. Press down the release tab on the Alternate Fuel Engine Control Module (AF ECM) mounting bracket and lift the AF ECM from the bracket. Remove the connector position assurance locks and disconnect the electrical connectors from the AF ECM. If mounting bracket removal is not necessary, go to step 3 .
- Remove the AF ECM mounting bracket bolts from the AF ECM adapter bracket. Remove the AF ECM mounting bracket. Remove the right front turn signal lens. Loosen the front AF ECM adapter bracket bolt located behind the right front turn signal lens. Remove the fender support rod to AF ECM adapter bracket bolt. Remove the fender support rod bolt and the support rod. Remove the rear AF ECM adapter bracket bolt. Remove the AF ECM adapter bracket from the vehicle.
- Install the AF ECM adapter bracket into the vehicle ensuring that the bracket is placed on the loosened forward bolt. Install the rear AF ECM adapter bracket bolt. Install the fender support rod and bolt. Install the fender support rod to AF ECM adapter bracket bolt. Tighten the front AF ECM adapter bracket bolt, rear AF ECM adapter bracket bolt and support rod bolt at the fender. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Program the ECM with the correct Alternative Fuels software if necessary.
