Intake Manifold: Removal

2004 Oldsmobile Bravada AWDSECTION Removal

  1. Remove throttle body assembly. See THROTTLE BODY . Remove Powertrain Control Module (PCM). See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE  under COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.
  2. Disconnect all wiring harnesses from engine wiring harness bracket on left side of engine, below intake manifold. Remove front differential vent hose from bracket clip (if equipped). Remove engine wiring harness bracket fastener(s) and engine wiring harness bracket.
  3. Disconnect MAP sensor harness connector. Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose. Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose at brake booster. Install a 3/8" drive breaker bar onto the drive belt tensioner. See Figure.
  4. Turn breaker bar clockwise enough to relieve the tension on the drive belt. Remove drive belt. Release tension on drive belt tensioner. Remove generator positive post cable nut. Remove A/C line bracket-to-engine lift hook bolt. Remove engine lift hook.
  5. Remove 3 generator mounting bolts. See Figure. Remove generator. Remove intake manifold bolts and intake manifold.
