CAUTION:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) .
- If necessary, remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L Engines) or Engine Sight Shield Replacement (6.0L Engine w/RPOs Y91 and Z88) in Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L.
- Remove the generator cable from the generator, perform the following:
- Reposition the boot to expose the stud.
- Remove the generator cable nut.
- Remove the generator cable from the stud.
- Open the positive cable junction block.
- Remove the generator cable nut.
- Remove the generator cable (2) from the junction block.
