1998 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight V6-3.8L VIN KSECTION Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Installation





INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed position, install the Throttle Position (TP) sensor to the throttle body assembly.

TP Sensor Screws:




2. Apply thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite (R), GM Part No. 1052624, or equivalent should be used.
3. Install the two TP sensor attaching screws.
^ Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




4. Install the TP sensor electrical connector to the TP sensor.




5. Install the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connector to the IAC valve.

MAF Sensor Electrical Connector:




6. Install the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector to the MAF sensor.




7. Install the manifold vacuum lines to the throttle body.




8. Install the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
