Compressor Replacement
1997 Oldsmobile LSS V6-3.8L VIN KSECTION Compressor Replacement
A/C Compressor Shaft Shield:
Compressor Mounting:
Remove or Disconnect
^ Recover refrigerant.
1. Accessory drive belt.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. A/C compressor splash shield
4. Transmission oil cooler line bracket.
5. A/C suction/discharge hose retaining bolt.
6. Front A/C compressor mounting nuts and rear mounting bolt.
7. A/C compressor.
Install or Connect
1. A/C compressor.
Tighten
^ Compressor mounting nuts 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
^ Compressor mounting bolt 100 N.m (74 lb. ft).
2. A/C suction/discharge hose retaining bolt
Tighten
^ Suction/Discharge hose Bolt 30 N.m (22 lb. ft.).
3. Transmission oil cooler line bracket.
4. A/C compressor splash shield.
Tighten
^ Splash shield bolts 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Accessory drive belt.
