Work Procedure
DESCRIPTION
When replacing the power steering control module, the procedures of BEFORE REPLACEMENT and AFTER REPLACEMENT must be performed. For work procedure, refer to the following:
- Before power steering control module replacement.
- After power steering control module replacement.
BEFORE REPLACEMENT
When replacing the power steering control module, save "Operation log".
AFTER REPLACEMENT
After replacing the power steering control module, the following items must be performed:
- Power steering control module programming.
- Power steering control module configuration.
- Adjust the neutral position of steering angle sensor.
WORK PROCEDURE (BEFORE REPLACING POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE)
- SAVE "OPERATION LOG" NOTE:
Power steering control module part number is saved in "Operating Log" saved in CONSULT.

- Replace the power steering control module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
- After replacing the power steering control module, perform necessary work.
WORK PROCEDURE (AFTER REPLACING POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE)
- CHECK "OPERATION LOG" NOTE:
For the vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if "Operation Log" of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is in Saved Data List.
Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?
YES>>
GO TO 2.
NO>>
GO TO 3.
- PERFORM POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING
With CONSULT Perform power steering control module programming, according to "Programming" of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
CAUTION:During programming, maintain the following conditions:
- Ignition switch: ON
- Electric load: OFF
- Steering wheel: Not steering
- 12 V battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)
- Vehicle speed: 0 km/h

GO TO 5.
- READ IN POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE PART NUMBER BY "EPC LINKED"
Obtain power steering control module part number by EPC (service parts catalog) according to the procedure of 'EPC linked' in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
CAUTION:Be sure to select "EPC linked".

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
