No: TSB-06-13-009
DATE: April, 2006
MODEL:
2004-06 Lancer 2.0L
SUBJECT:
DTC P0171 SYSTEM TOO LEAN
PURPOSE
The MIL may come on and DTC P0171 "System Too Lean" may set in the PCM. This condition may be due to vacuum leakage around a fuel injector insulator. To eliminate this condition, install a new, improved 0-ring (listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin) on all fuel injectors. When installing the injectors, it is critical that there is no air leakage between the fuel injector and the insulator.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2004-2006 Lancer models equipped with 2.0L engine
PROCEDURE

Replace the 0-ring and insulator on all fuel injectors, using the parts listed below.
Verify that there is no clearance between the insulator and the injector. Install the injectors on the fuel rail.

After the fuel rail is installed on the engine, be sure to press the injectors firmly down against the insulators.
PARTS INFORMATION

Use the Genuine Mitsubishi Part shown.
