PURPOSE
This bulletin is issued to explain the two part numbers for the Multi-Use Tester in the 1990 Service Manuals.

DESCRIPTION
Two part numbers are given for the multi-use tester on the referenced pages. MB991269 is listed as being for use on earlier vehicles, and MB991431 is listed for use on later models. Actually, both part numbers may be used on all vehicles provided the correct ROM pack is inserted into the tester. The ROM pack for 1990 models is MB991327.
In the earlier tester, MB991269, instructions were given in the language of the country where the tester was to be used. In the later tester, MB991341, instructions are given in English only.
The two testers are identical in all other respects. Therefore, either tester may be used with equal confidence.
