Steering Column: Installation
2013 Mini Cooper Countryman, Standard TransSECTION Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. Fit spacer plate. See Figure .
- Fit spacer tube (1). Tighten down new shear screw until screw head shears off. See Figure .
- Ensure clamping screw is located in retaining groove of steering spindle. See Figure . Replace self-locking nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Resecure lines and cables with cable ties.
- When installing collar (1), recess (3) of collar ring (1) must point to snap ring (2). See Figure .
- After installation, carry out steering angle offset for DSC (Dynamic Stability Control). See BMW Diagnosis Program.
- Check for freedom of movement over entire adjustment range of steering column to adjoining components and wires.
