2013 Mini Cooper Countryman, Standard TransSECTION 52 14 ... Additional Work (Normal/Electric) With Defective Drive/Gear For Longitudinal Adjustment

CAUTION: Seat rails must be replaced by detaching worm gear.

Move seat height and seat tilt adjustment to top position.

To obtain improved access if necessary:

  • Release screws (1).
  • Tip seat towards rear.

Installation: 

Tightening torque, refer to 52 10 6AZ in SEATS - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Lift drive (1) and flex shaft (3) out of guide (2) in direction of arrow.

Detach flex shaft (3) (plug connection).

Release screws (1).

Remove drive (4).

Detach flex shaft (3) with holder (2).

Activate the operating switch for the seat position adjustment:

  1. No function:
    • Disconnect plug connection on drive.
    • Connect new drive and check function.
    • Gear is O.K. if drive runs.

      Assemble seat.

  2. Drive running:
    • Gear for longitudinal seat adjustment defective.

Removing Gear For Longitudinal Seat Adjustment: 

Release screws (1).

Remove worm gear (2) on left and right with cover.

Release screws (1) on upper rail on left and right.

NOTE: The seat can now be adjusted together with the upper rail.

Remove front seat. Refer to 52 14 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .

Replace both seat rails. Refer to 52 14 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH SEAT RAILS ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
