Control Arm: Removal
2013 Mini Cooper Countryman, Standard TransSECTION Removal

- Raise and support front of vehicle.
- Remove front wheel.
- Remove engine underguard.51 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE FRONT BUMPER (FROM 10/01)
- Remove reinforcement cross brace. See REINFORCEMENT CROSS BRACE .
- Remove reinforcement plate. See REINFORCEMENT PLATE .
- Remove retaining bracket (1) of angle joint from control arm (2). See Figure.
- Unfasten nut. Strike off control arm ball joint with a plastic hammer. Take off control arm.
- Unscrew and remove nut. Press control arm off steering knuckle with special tool (32 3 090). See Figure.
- Remove control arm bracket from engine support. See Figure.
- If replacing control arms, derust the stub axle in the area of the contact face of the rubber sleeve and replace brackets on both. See CONTROL ARM BRACKETS .
- Fit control arm with same identification only.
