Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
General notes
In normal operation, the air mass meter is subject to effects such as dirt contamination and ageing. These effects cause divergence between the stored characteristic and the specified status resulting in lack of power or black smoke. In order to prevent the effects of this problem, the heating wire air mass flow sensor adaptation has been introduced.
The mass airflow (MAF) meter service function must be conducted when the mass airflow meter is replaced. The stored correction factors are reset to 0 in the process.
