Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Catalytic converter
The engine S63 TOP has a double-walled catalytic converter for each bank. The catalytic converts no longer have decoupling elements.
The known Bosch oxygen sensors are used. The control sensor is located in front of the catalytic converter, as close as possible to the turbine output. Your position was selected so that all cylinders can be recorded separately. The monitoring sensor is positioned between the first and second ceramic monoliths.
The graphic below shows the catalytic converter pipe with the integrated components.
