| Has at least one belt tensioner and/or one side airbag been activated? | Yes | Check 1 (when installed): Check all seat adjustment options of both front seats. There must be no stiff movement, sticking or other functional problems or noises across the entire adjustment range of all the seat adjustment options. Check head restraints for damage. Check crash-active headrest for activation. Only 2-door model: Check backrest lock. Backrest must unlock and lock easily without any great physical effort. |
If components are OK with regard to checks 1 and 2, only replace activated belt tensioner or side airbag. Otherwise, replace faulty parts on the seat/body. Replace belt tensioner, seat belt and, if necessary, side airbag. |
