READ AND COMPLY WITH NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
READ AND COMPLY WITH NOTES ON PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Necessary preliminary work:
- Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY LEAD .
- Remove cross member . See 22 32 050 REPLACING CROSS-MEMBER FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING (N57) AWD , 22 32 050 REPLACING THE CROSS MEMBER FOR THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTING (N20, N55, N47) ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE or 22 32 050 REPLACING CROSS-MEMBER FOR TRANSMISSION MOUNTING (N63) AWD .
Disconnect connector (1).
Release screws (3) and remove transfer box control unit (longitudinal torque module) (2).
Tightening torque: 27 10 3AZ .
Installation note:
Replace O-ring.
NOTE:
Radial shaft seal of actuator shaft must be replaced as well.
