Driving without  compression struts is not permitted!

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

  • Remove trailing link to rear axle. (F07/F11/F12)

Release screws of underbody panelling (1).

Remove underbody panelling (1).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque: see 2AZ in 33 33 REAR AXLE SUSPENSION

Release screw (2) and remove compression strut (3).

Tightening torque: see 1AZ in 33 33 REAR AXLE SUSPENSION

IMPORTANT: Secure rear axle support by inserting screw (2).
