Remove gas spring, REFER TO 86 21... REMOVING GAS SPRING .
Remove ball pivot, REFER TO 86 21... REMOVING BALL PIVOT .

Release screws (1) and remove gas spring retaining bracket (2) from mounting bracket (3).
