Control Arm: Removal
2013 Mini Cooper Countryman, Standard TransSECTION Removal

- Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove front wheel.
- Remove retaining bracket (1) of angle joint from control arm (2). See Figure .
- Unfasten nut. Press control arm off steering knuckle with special tool (32 3 090). See Figure . Reconnect ball-and-socket joint with wheel carrier and secure with nut against falling out.
- Remove control arm bracket from engine support. See Figure .
- Unfasten nut. Strike off control arm ball joint with plastic hammer. Take off control arm.
- If replacing control arms, derust the stub axle in the area of the contact face of the rubber sleeve and replace brackets. See CONTROL ARM BRACKETS .
