Cars with automatic transmissions:

  • Select drive position "P"
  • Apply handbrake

Cars with manual transmissions:

  • Move gearshift lever to neutral position
  • Apply handbrake

Turn off ignition.

Disconnect DME master relay. This ensures that the DME control unit does not actuate the ignition coils.

If this procedure is not observed:

  • High voltage! - Mortal danger! 
  • Damage to DME control unit (ignition final stages)!
