Loading/Activation of Enabling Codes with ISTA/P

SITUATION

Enabling codes are needed for certain module replacements, retrofits, modules that fail programming, or during the QC 1 pre-delivery check. This bulletin gives an overview on how to load and activate enabling codes with ISTA/P.

CAUSE

The general purpose of the enabling codes is to unlock value-added functions or components in MINI vehicles.

INFORMATION

Please follow the procedures below to load and activate the enabling codes with ISTA/P. Refer to the attached document for detailed information and screenshots:

Refer to the M090111_Attachment below.

Refer to SI M09 02 11 to determine which enabling code is needed for which function/component.

For further information on enabling codes, please refer to the document "Information on Enabling Codes" in the Workshop Technology portal in Centernet.

PROCEDURE

Module Replacement Procedure


^ ISTA/P will ask you to import codes depending on the option codes and replaced module.

^ Download repair codes in ASAP.

Retrofit Procedure

^ ISTA/P will ask you to import codes depending on the retrofit.

^ Order the codes as mentioned in the installation instructions and in the EPC.

^ It can take up to 24 hours to generate codes.

^ Download the codes in ASAP.

Module Failed Programming Procedure

^ ISTA/P will ask you to import the codes, depending on which module failed programming.

^ Download the repair enabling codes in ASAP.

^ Try to import and activate in another ISTA/P session.

^ If those codes don't work, open a PuMA Case to receive technical support.

PDI with Navigation (SA 606) Procedure

^ During PDI, you will be asked in ISTA if you want to activate the Navigation Map.

^ Please refer to SI M65 03 10.
