Special Tool(s)

Assembly

1. Install the direct one-way clutch assembly
1 Install the No.7 thrust washer.
2 Install the direct one-way clutch assembly.

2. NOTE: Lightly coat the O-rings with petroleum jelly.
Install new O-rings.

3. Install the forward clutch assembly.

4. NOTE: The spring retainer assembly contains both oval and circular holes. Make sure that the washer tabs lock into the oval holes.
Install the No. 6 rear clutch sun gear thrust washer.

5. Install the overdrive drum.

6. NOTE: The lip on the bearing goes over the hub.
Using petroleum jelly to hold the parts in place, install the No. 10 thrust bearing.

7. Install the rear clutch hub and the No. 10 thrust bearing.

8. NOTE: The lip on the bearing goes down over the hub.
Install the No. 11 thrust bearing.

9. Install the front sun shell.
Special Tool(s)
