Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor

2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata L4-1.8L DOHCSECTION Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.
2. Remove the undercover.
3. Remove the CKP sensor installation bolt.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque
7.9 - 10.7 N.m {80 - 110 kgf.cm, 69.5 - 95.4 in.lbf}

5. Reconnect the CKP sensor connector.

NOTE: Do not forcefully pull the wiring harness of the CKP sensor.

6. Adjust the air gap. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR ADJUSTMENT [BP, BP WITH TC].)
