^ The EC-AT (Electronically Controlled Automatic Transaxle) control unit, located under left side of dash, sends a transmission range position signal to the ECU.
^ Because engine operating requirements vary according to transmission range vehicle is operating in, EC-AT signal is used (along with several other input signals) in ECU calculations for ignition timing.
