Transmitter Battery

DOOR LOCK: TRANSMITTER BATTERY: REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard)
NOTICE:
Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.
(a) Push and hold the release knob in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration. Then take the mechanical key out of the case.
(b) for Type A:
(1) Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to detach the cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(2) Insert a screwdriver into the gap and remove the battery (lithium battery: CR1632).

NOTICE:
* Do not push the terminals with your finger.
* Do not forcibly pry up the battery. The terminals may be damaged.
* Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
* Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.
* To prevent the transmitter from being damaged, be sure to touch a grounded metal surface with your bare hands to discharge any static electricity before replacing the transmitter battery.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) for Type B:
(1) Disengage the claw and remove the slide transmitter housing cover as shown in the illustration.
(2) Remove the battery cover with 4 screws.
(3) Insert a screwdriver into the gap and remove the battery (lithium battery: CR1632).
NOTICE:
* Do not push the terminals with your finger.
* Do not forcibly pry up the battery. The terminals may be damaged.
* Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
* Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.

2. REMOVE TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type)
(a) Lightly hold and pull the transmitter cover out in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Do not insert a screwdriver etc. between the case and transmitter cover and forcefully bend the transmitter cover. This will deform the transmitter cover.
HINT
* If the transmitter cover is held too firmly, it becomes harder to pull out.
* If the transmitter cover is slippery and it is difficult to pull out, use non-slip gloves to pull the cover out.
(b) Remove the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412).
3. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard)
(a) for Type A:
(1) Install a new battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
* Be sure that the positive (+) side and the negative (-) side of the transmitter battery are matched correctly.
* Be careful not to bend the electrodes while installing the battery.
* Keep the interior of the transmitter case free of dust, water and oil.
* To prevent the transmitter from being damaged, be sure to touch a grounded metal surface with your bare hands to discharge any static electricity before replacing the transmitter battery.
(2) Install the cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.
(b) for Type B:
(1) Install a new battery (lithium battery: CR1632) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
* Do not bend the electrodes while installing the battery.
* Keep the interior of the transmitter case free of dust, water and oil.
* To prevent the transmitter from being damaged, be sure to touch a grounded metal surface with your bare hands to discharge any static electricity before replacing the transmitter battery.
(2) Install the battery cover with the 4 screws.
(3) Engage the claw to install the slide transmitter housing cover as shown in the illustration.
(c) Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.
4. INSTALL TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type)
(a) Push in and install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: 2412) while being careful of the following: 1) the orientation of the battery positive (+) and negative (-) terminals; and 2) being sure to insert the battery between the 2 terminals and deep into the card, in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration.
NOTICE:
* Insert the battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
* Do not deform the terminals.
* If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the battery.
HINT
Check if the card terminals are damaged or if the card interior has foreign matter.
(b) Install the transmitter cover so that it clips onto the case.
NOTICE:
* Push on the transmitter cover until its attachment hooks attach securely.
* When the transmitter cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the cover may become loose.
