THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Entry Function): DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

1. DESCRIPTION

(a) The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) control the vehicle smart access system with push-button start functions. Smart access system with push-button start data and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read through the vehicle Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3). In some cases, a malfunction may be occurring in the smart access system with push-button start. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the Techstream to check for malfunctions and perform repairs.

2. CHECK DLC3

(a) Check the DLC3 General Information.

3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

(a) Measure the battery voltage with the power switch off.

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery.
