Navigation Language Changes to English





AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE

CONDITION SUMMARY:

NOTE:
If the customer-selected language is English, no adverse effect will be evident.

Situation:

While using the High Level Display Front (HLDF) touchscreen and if the customer-selected language is not English, the language may inadvertently change from the selected language to English.

Action:

In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to update the Front entertainment control module software.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

UPDATE FRONT ENTERTAINMENT CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE

CAUTION:
Ensure all ignition 'ON' / ignition 'OFF' requests are carried out; failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle.

CAUTION:
A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during IDS diagnosis / module programming.

NOTE:
When performing module software updates, if IDS displays 'no update required' , select 'tick', then select 'X' in the pop-up window to abort the routine. Diagnose as a separate claim.

1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle battery.

NOTE:
IDS must be loaded with software release DVD 118.5 with Patch File 19 or later and latest calibration files.

2. Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.

3. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.

4. When prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?' select 'No'.

5. Select 'tick' to continue.

6. When Content Model is displayed, select the 'Vehicle Configuration' tab.

7. From the Vehicle Configuration menu, configure the Front entertainment control module by selecting:

^ 'Module programming' > 'Configure existing module' > 'Front entertainment control module'.

8. Follow all on-screen instructions until IDS displays the current and proposed software levels.

^ If 'Software update required' is displayed, select 'tick' to update the Front entertainment control module software, following all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

^ If 'No update required' is displayed select 'tick', then select 'X' in the pop-up window to abort the routine; exit the current session. Diagnose as a separate claim.

9. Exit the current session.

10. Disconnect IDS and the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.
