System Setup (JTP627/1)

1991 Jaguar XJ-6 L6-4.0LSECTION System Setup (JTP627/1)
A new feature has been added to the system setup menu, this is accessed via the asterix icon. The new option will only be made available when the diagnostic software loaded onto the PDU has been programmed to enable the level at which testing finishes to be altered.

Normally all diagnostic applications continue diagnostics until the lowest replacement unit is identified. This new feature allows diagnostics to be stopped after the PDU has located the area of the fault but not the actual replacement unit. The two levels are diagnostics are defined as:

1 Diagnose Area Only

2 Pinpoint Diagnosis

The fault ticket supplied by the PDU will also indicate which level of diagnostics was selected.

Note:
The majority of existing diagnostic applications do not support this feature, however most future new applications, (as opposed to modifications to existing applications) will.
