Oil Level Check - Delco Compressor

The following procedure must be performed very slowly to prevent liquid refrigerant from damaging compressor.
1. Operate engine with A/C running for 10-15 minutes.
2. Stop engine, then remove drain plug from bottom of compressor. Drain oil into suitable container.
3. Remove pressure plate from inlet and outlet ports at rear of compressor.
4. Place rear of compressor over drain container. Slowly rotate driveplate through several revolutions in both directions.
5. Measure quantity of drained oil.
6. Add compressor oil to receive a total of 7 fl. oz. Refill compressor.
7. Oil may be added to system either directly into compressor or into compressor charging port.
