PURPOSE/OPERATION

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) senses the Top Dead Center (TDC) point of No.1 cylinder in its compression stroke, whose signals are fed to Engine Control Module (ECM) to be used to determine the sequence of fuel injection.
