NOTE:

) before doing repairs or service.
- Remove the steering column cover (see COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect the steering lock assembly 6P connector.
- Insert the ignition key in the key cylinder, then turn the ignition key to ACCESSORY (I).
- Connect power to steering lock assembly 6P connector terminal No. 4, and ground the steering lock assembly connector 6P terminal No. 3. Check that the ignition key cannot be turned to LOCK (0). Disconnect power and make sure that the key can be turned to the LOCK (0) position and removed from the cylinder.
- If the key interlock solenoid works improperly, replace the ignition key cylinder/steering lock assembly (see CHECK OF LOCK LEVER FORCE ).
