ODS Unit Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the front passenger's seat Front Seat Removal/Installation and front seat back panel.

3. Turn over the seat-back cover/pad as needed. Front Seat Removal/Installation

4. Disconnect the ODS unit 18P connector (A) and OPDS sensor connectors (B) from the ODS unit (C).

5. Remove the two nuts (D) and the ODS unit.






Installation

1. Place the ODS unit (A) on the seat-back frame. Tighten the two nuts (B), and connect the ODS unit harness 18P connector (C) and OPDS sensor connectors (D) to the ODS unit.

2. Install the seat-back cover/pad in the reverse order of removal.

3. Install the front seat back panel and front passenger's seat assembly. Front Seat Removal/Installation

4. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

5. Set the seat-back in the normal position, and make sure there is nothing on the front passenger's seat.

6. Clear any DTCs. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

7. Do the ODS unit initialization. Programming and Relearning

8. Confirm proper operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.
