Intermediate Shaft: Reassembly

2002 Honda Civic SiSECTION Reassembly

NOTE: Refer to the exploded view as needed during this procedure. See Fig 1 .
  1. Clean the disassembled parts with solvent, and dry them with compressed air. DO NOT wash the rubber parts with solvent.
  2. Press the intermediate shaft bearing (A) into the bearing support (B) using the driver, oil seal driver attachment, and a press. See Fig 2 .
  3. Install the internal snap ring into the groove of the bearing support. See Figure .
  4. Press the intermediate shaft (A) into the shaft bearing using the attachment and a press. See Fig 3 .
  5. Install the external snap ring (A) into the groove of the intermediate shaft (B). See Fig 4 .
  6. Pack the interior of the outer seal (A) with grease. Install the outer seal into the bearing support (B) using fork seal driver, support base attachment, support base and a press. See Fig 5 .
  7. Install the heat shield onto the bearing support.
