Intermediate Shaft: Disassembly

  1. Remove the heat shield (A) and intermediate shaft outer seal (B) from the bearing support. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove the set ring (D) and the external snap ring (E).
  3. Press the intermediate shaft (A) out of bearing (B) using the support base attachment, support base and a press. See Fig 2 . Be careful not to damage the metal rings (C) on the intermediate shaft during disassembly.
  4. Remove the internal snap ring. See Fig 3 .
  5. Press the intermediate shaft bearing (A) out of the bearing support (B) using the support base attachment, support base, attachment, driver and a press. See Fig 4 .
