Power Tailgate Latch/Ratchet Switch Test

2002 Honda Civic SiSECTION Power Tailgate Latch/Ratchet Switch Test

  1. Remove the tailgate trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA ).
  2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the tailgate closer unit (B).

  3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each latch position according to the table shown in Fig 2.

  4. If the continuity check is not as specified, replace the tailgate latch assembly (see WITH POWER TAILGATE ).
