- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Remove the left rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA ).
- Disconnect the 22P, 12P, and 5P connectors (A) from the left power sliding door control unit (B).
- Inspect all the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 5.
- Reconnect all connectors to the left power sliding door control unit, and make the input tests shown in CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST DETAILS (LEFT POWER SLIDING MOTOR) , at the appropriate connector.
- If the test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If the input test proves OK, replace the left power sliding door control unit.

- An open in the wire
A14 YEL Ignition switch ON (II) Check for voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. - Blown No. 21 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
- An open in the wire
A21 BLK Under all conditions Check for voltage to ground: There should be less than 1 V. - Poor ground (G603)
- An open in the wire
C4 C1 BRN Under all conditions Check for voltage to ground:

B1 BLU/BLK Perform the RELEASE ACTION forced operation with the HDS (1) Check the actuator operation: The release actuator should operate (check by operation sound). - Faulty release actuator

B2 BLU/WHT Perform the CLOSER MOTOR forced operation with the HDS (1) Check the closer motor operation: The closer motor should operate (check by operation sound). - Faulty closer motor
- Faulty left CESS articulated harness
- An open in the wire
B7 GRY A5 ORN Open the left sliding door window more than 3.9 in. (100 mm) Check for continuity between the A5 terminal and A19 terminal: There should be no continuity. - Faulty left sliding door window switch
- Faulty left CESS articulated harness
- A short to ground in the wire
Close the left sliding door window fully Check for continuity between the A5 terminal and A19 terminal: There should be continuity. - Faulty left sliding door window switch
- Faulty left CESS articulated harness
- An open in the wire
B6 YEL/BLU Power sliding door main switch ON Check for voltage to ground: There should be less than 1 V. - Faulty power sliding door switch
- Poor ground (G504)

Power sliding door main switch OFF Check for voltage to ground: There should be 5 V or more. - Faulty power sliding door switch
- A short to ground in the wire
A9 BLU/BLK Shift lever in P position Check for voltage to ground: There should be less than 1 V. - Faulty transmission range switch
- Poor ground (G101, G102)
- An open in the wire
Shift lever any other position than P Check for voltage to ground: There should be 5 V or more. - Faulty transmission rage switch
- A short to ground in the wire
(1) Connect the HDS, select the POWER SLIDING DOOR from the BODY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SELECT menu, then enter the DATA LIST.
