Headliner Removal/Installation

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014
SRS components are located in this are. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before performing repairs or service.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to bend and scratch the headliner.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard and other interior trim.
- Remove these items:
- A-pillar trim, both sides (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - PILLAR AREAS )
- Front seat belt upper anchor, both sides (see step 4 in FRONT SEAT BELT REPLACEMENT )
- B-pillar lower trim, both sides (see B-PILLAR )
- B-pillar upper trim, both sides (see B-PILLAR )
- C-pillar trim, both sides (see C-PILLAR )
- D-pillar trim, both sides (see D-PILLAR )
- Rear ceiling lights (third row seats) (see REAR INDIVIDUAL MAP LIGHT TEST/REPLACEMENT )
- Center second row seat belt cover (see CENTER SECOND ROW SEAT BELT )
- Center third row seat belt cover (see CENTER THIRD ROW SEAT BELT )
- RES display cover (see REAR CONTROLLER AND SCREEN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Rear A/C control panel (see REAR CONTROL PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION )
- From both sides, using a trim tool, release the tabs (A), then remove the sunvisor cap (B) from the bracket (C). Turn the cap, and remove it.
- Remove both sunvisors (A) and holders (B).
- -1 Remove the self-tapping ET screws.
- -2 Remove the sunvisor from the body and holder.
- -3 If equipped, disconnect the vanity mirror light connector (C).
- -4 Using a flat-tip screwdriver, push the hook (D), turn the holder 90°, then pull it out.
- Remove the roof console (A).
- -1 Remove the lenses (B).
- -2 Remove the bolts (C, D).
- -3 Pull out the roof console and front individual map light (E).
- -4 Disconnect the front individual map light connector (F) and navigation microphone connector (G).
- Lower the grab handle, then pry out the caps (A). Remove the self-tapping ET screws, then remove the grab handle (B). Remove the remaining grab handles.
- If equipped, remove the rear ceiling vents.
- -1 Remove the lens (A).
- -2 Slide the vent to the closed position to expose the screw (B).
- -3 Remove the screw (C) and nut (D) (rear left side only).
- -4 Pull out the rear ceiling vents (E) to release the clip (F), and disconnect the map light connector (G).
- Remove the headliner (A).
- -1 With moonroof: Remove the socket plug (B).
- -2 Remove the bolt (C).
- -3 Remove the front door opening trim (D), rear door opening trim (E), and tailgate weatherstrip (F) from each roof portion.
- -4 With the help of an assistant, detach the rear clips (G) by pulling the rear portion of the headliner down.
- -5 With moonroof: Release the fasteners (H) and detach the front clips (I) by lowering the headliner.
- -6 Lower the headliner, and remove it through the tailgate opening.
