Sliding Door Front Latch Replacement

2002 Honda Civic SiSECTION Sliding Door Front Latch Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove the outer handle crank (see SLIDING DOOR OUTER HANDLE CRANK REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Release the cable holder (A). Disconnect the front latch cable (B), and detach the cable clips (C).

  3. Remove the screws, then remove the front latch (D).
  4. Do the sliding door cable adjustment on the front cable (see FRONT LATCH CABLE  ).
  5. Install the front latch in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure the cables are connected securely.
    • Take care not to bend any of the cables.
    • Make sure the door locks and opens properly.
