- Remove the driver dashboard lower cover (see DASHBOARD CENTER LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Disconnect D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector.
- Check for continuity between D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3 when pressing the D3 switch.
- There should be continuity when pressing the D3 switch once, and there should be no continuity when pressing the D3 switch again.
- If the D3 switch is OK, connect the connector and install the driver's dashboard lower cover. If the switch is faulty, replace the D3 switch (see D3 SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
