CKP Sensor Replacement

2002 Honda Civic SiSECTION CKP Sensor Replacement

  1. Move the auto-tensioner to remove tension from the drive belt, then remove the belt (see DRIVE BELT AUTO-TENSIONER REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Remove the crankshaft pulley, J35A6 engine (see CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ), J35A7 engine (see CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the upper and lower front covers from the engine, J35A6 engine (see step 9 in TIMING BELT REMOVAL ), J35A7 engine (see step 9 in TIMING BELT REMOVAL ).
  4. Remove the CKP sensor (A) from the oil pump.

  5. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Do the CKP pattern learn procedure (see CKP PATTERN CLEAR/CKP PATTERN LEARN ).
