WARNING: When servicing fuel system-related components, high fuel pressure may be present in fuel lines and component parts. Relieve pressure before attempting to open system for component replacement. DO NOT  allow fuel to flow onto engine or electrical parts or allow an open flame in area while testing fuel system components.

To relieve fuel pressure, remove fuel filler cap. Disconnect negative battery cable. Hold banjo bolt with proper wrench and slowly loosen service bolt on top of fuel filter. Place a shop towel on top of service bolt. Loosen service bolt one complete turn. Always install new washer between service and banjo bolts when loosened.
