Transmission Control Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning:
Refer to SIR Warning SIR Warning.
1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (HP2) Steering Column ReplacementSteering Column Replacement (Without HP2) Steering Column Replacement.
2. Remove the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement Shift Lever Replacement.
Note:
The ignition lock cylinder set should be in the OFF-LOCK position.
3. Disconnect the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
Caution:
Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.
4. Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator (1) from the automatic transmission control.
5. Remove the automatic transmission control bolts (1).
6. Remove the automatic transmission control (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the automatic transmission control (2).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
Note:
Move the automatic transmission control as needed to install all the automatic transmission control bolts.
2. Install the automatic transmission control bolts (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Connect the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator (1) to the automatic transmission control.
4. Connect the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
1. Place the ignition lock cylinder into the OFF position.
2. Place the automatic transmission control into the PARK position.
3. Press the locking tab on the end of the automatic transmission park lock cable into the slot in the ignition lock cylinder case.
5. Install the shift lever. Refer to Shift Lever Replacement Shift Lever Replacement.
6. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement (HP2) Steering Column ReplacementSteering Column Replacement (Without HP2) Steering Column Replacement.
