Engine Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation.
2. Remove the instrument panel lower extension, if equipped. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Extension Replacement Instrument Panel Lower Extension Replacement.
3. Remove the left knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the right knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement.
5. Release the engine cover retainers (1, 3).
Important:
Remove the cover by pulling directly rearward to avoid contact between the cover and the engine components beneath the cover.
6. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle (2).
Installation Procedure
Important:
* Ensure that the engine cover sealing strip is properly seated between the engine cover and the vehicle.
* Install the cover by pushing directly forward until the seal is properly seated to avoid contact between the cover and the engine components beneath the cover.
1. Install the engine cover to the vehicle (2).
2. Install the engine cover retainers (1, 3).
3. Install the left knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Install the right knee bolster. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement Passenger Knee Bolster Replacement.
5. Install the instrument panel lower extension, if equipped. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Replacement Instrument Panel Extension Replacement.
6. Install the front passenger seat. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation Driver or Passenger Seat Removal and Installation.
