Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2) Bracket
NOTE: The Headlamp Control Module 2 (HCM-2) bracket primer and adhesive are not included in service kit (part number 13655) and will have to be ordered separately. The HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) bracket primer and adhesive part numbers and ordering instructions are available in the parts ordering system.
NOTE: The HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) bracket adhesive will take at least 6 hours to dry.
1. NOTICE: Make sure not to scratch the windshield glass.
Using a razor blade, carefully remove any residual glue from the windshield glass.
2. Using a clean cloth, wipe the windshield glass to remove any loose glue particles.
3. NOTE: Locator lines must be straight and parallel to the edge of the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
Using a china marker, add locator lines onto the windshield glass as indicated.
1. 13 mm (0.511 in) above the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
2. 11 mm (0.433 in) to the right of the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
4. Apply the specified primer onto a clean cloth.
5. Insert a cotton swab, or equivalent, onto the wet area of the cloth.
6. NOTICE: Do not apply primer to the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
Using the cotton swab, or equivalent, apply the primer onto the contact area of the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) mounting bracket area of the windshield glass.
7. NOTE: Apply the adhesive to the side of the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) bracket that does not have the forward facing flange.
Using a 3M(R) EPX Plus II applicator or equivalent, apply a 4 mm (0.157 in) bead of specified adhesive to the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) mounting bracket.
8. NOTE: Make sure that the forward facing flange is located on the RH side of the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
Apply the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) mounting bracket onto the windshield making sure that the inner edges of the bracket are aligned to the locator lines as shown.
9. NOTE: Do not apply masking tape onto HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) view window area.
Apply masking tape onto the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2) mounting bracket and the windshield glass in order to hold the bracket onto the windshield.
10. Allow the adhesive to dry for at least 6 hours.
11. Install the HCM-2 (Headlamp Control Module 2).
