Diagnostic Overview
Select Shift
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 37 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
When the selector lever is moved to the M position, the driver can shift the transaxle manually using the SelectShift(TM).
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. Read and record all DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) P0815 set?
2. Check the upshift signal circuit for voltage
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the floor shifter C3245.
3. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
4. Ignition ON.
5. Measure the voltage on circuit CET61 (BU/VT) from the floor shifter C3245-9 to ground.
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
3. Check the upshift signal circuit for an open
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A.
3. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
4. Measure the resistance of circuit CET61 (BU/VT) from floor shifter C3245-9 to the TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A-9.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
4. Check the upshift signal circuit for a short to ground
1. Measure the resistance of circuit CET61 (BU/VT) from floor shifter C3245-9 to ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
5. Check the signal return circuit for an open
1. Connect the TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Measure the voltage from circuit CET61 (BU/VT) from floor shifter C3245-9 and circuit RET24 (BN/BU) floor shifter C3245-8.
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
6. Check the downshift signal circuit for voltage
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the floor shifter C3245.
3. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
4. Ignition ON.
5. Measure the voltage on circuit CET62 (WH/GN) from floor shifter C3245-10 to ground.
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
7. Check the downshift signal circuit for an open
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A.
3. Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
4. Measure the resistance of circuit CET62 (WH/GN) from floor shifter C3245-10 to the TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A-10.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
8. Check the downshift signal circuit for a short to ground
1. Measure the resistance of circuit CET62 (WH/GN) from floor shifter C3245-10 to ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
9. Check the signal return circuit for an open
1. Connect TCM (Transmission Control Module) C1750A.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Measure the voltage from circuit CET62 (WH/GN) from floor shifter C3245-10 and circuit RET24 (BN/BU) floor shifter C3245-8.
