Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Lifting Points .
2. Remove the RH (Right Hand) wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire .
3. Remove the RH (Right Hand) fender splash shield. REFER to Fender Splash Shield .
4. Disconnect the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.
5. Turn the crankshaft until piston no.1 is 45 degrees before TDC (Top Dead Center) by using the guide holes on the engine front cover and the crankshaft pulley.
6. NOTE: The cylinder block plug is located on the exhaust side of the engine block near the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor.
Remove the cylinder block plug.
7. Install 303-507
1. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the crankshaft contacts the 303-507
8. NOTICE: Only hand-tighten the bolt or damage to the front cover can occur.
Install a 6 mm x 18 mm standard bolt through the crankshaft pulley TDC (Top Dead Center) guide hole and into the engine front cover TDC (Top Dead Center) guide hole..
9. Remove the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor retaining bolts and the sensor.
Installation
1. Install the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor and the 2 bolts, but do not tighten the 2 bolts at this time.
2. Using 303-1417 adjust the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor and tighten the bolts.
- Tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
3. Connect the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the 6 mm x 18 mm bolt.
5. Remove 303-507 and install the cylinder block plug.
- Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
6. Install the RH fender splash shield. REFER to Fender Splash Shield .
7. Install the RH wheel and tire. REFER to Wheel and Tire .
