Diagnostic Overview

One Or More Demand Lamps Are Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 89 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Demand Lamps .

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the bulbs and make sure they are OK.

- Inspect the courtesy lamp operation.

- Inspect the interior lamp for damage.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE COURTESY LAMP OPERATION

1. Ignition ON.

2. Open any door and observe the interior courtesy lamps.

Do the interior courtesy lamps illuminate?







2. CHECK THE VANITY MIRROR VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Inoperative Vanity Mirror Lamp.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







3. CHECK THE VANITY MIRROR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?







4. CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Inoperative Lamp.

3. Ignition ON.

4. For a front interior lamp (vehicles not equipped with a roof opening panel), measure:





5. For a rear interior lamp (vehicles not equipped with a roof opening panel), measure:





6. For a driver interior lamp, measure:





7. For a passenger interior lamp, measure:





8. For a rear interior lamp (vehicles equipped with a roof opening panel), measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
