Diagnostic Overview
The Luggage Compartment Lamp Is Inoperative Or On Continuously
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 117 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to Demand Lamps .
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Inspect the liftgate/luggage compartment lid for correct latching.
Pinpoint Test
1. DETERMINE IF THE LAMP IS ON WITH THE LIFTGATE/LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID CLOSED
1. Ignition ON.
2. Make sure the liftgate/luggage compartment lid is fully latched and observe the luggage compartment lamp(s).
Is the luggage compartment lamp illuminated?
2. CHECK THE LIFTGATE/LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Disconnect: Liftgate/Luggage Compartment Lid Latch.
Does the luggage compartment lamp continue to illuminate?
3. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE COURTESY LAMPS
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Open any door.
Do the interior courtesy lamps illuminate?
4. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP
1. Disconnect: Inoperative Luggage Compartment Lamp.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
5. ISOLATE THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP BULB SOCKET
1. Measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
6. CHECK THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LAMP GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect: Inoperative Luggage Compartment Lamp.
3. Disconnect: Liftgate/Luggage Compartment Lid Latch C4223.
4. Ignition ON.
5. Connect:
Does the luggage compartment lamp illuminate?
7. CHECK THE LIFTGATE/LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LID LATCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Connect:
Does the luggage compartment lamp illuminate?
